October 14 was National Desserts Day and I spent it well with a whole lot of sweetness with my latest yummy finds, delectable cookies from Chewy Crumbles. They are homemade cookies which are made fresh on a daily basis with premium quality ingredients. They come in four different flavors:
CLASSIC
The timeless classic cookie made with semi-sweet chocolate chips and bits of toasted walnuts to give that extra texture to the cookies.
S’MORES COFFEE
This bunch is a party of flavors and textures of coffee, peanuts, milk chocolate, and marshmallows. Each cookie is topped with chocolate biscuit for that extra crunch.
WHITE MATCHA
It is a combination of 100% pure matcha and rich & creamy white chocolate. Like they always say, it’s a “MATCHA” made in heaven.
DOUBLE DARK CHOCOLATE
These cookies are packed with 62% dark chocolate and 52% dark belgian chocolate. It also contains 100% pure dark cacao powder and topped with their very own homemade caramel sauce.
Chewy Crumbles started out as a simple craving which led to a lucrative business by Jov and her partner. Right after watching a YouTube video, “How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookies,” Jov wanted to eat some cookies so she bought ingredients and made a batch for herself. Little did she know that her first stint in baking desserts would become a huge hit among her partner and her brother. She found baking a lot of fun so she decided to sell them.
Jov and her partner are hands on in making the preparations and in baking the cookies. They first released the Classic and the Double Dark cookie flavors since most these are familiar flavors to them since they were young. Besides, you can never go wrong with these timeless flavors.
Aside from the two flavors, they decided to incorporate matcha and coffee because they love those flavors for their drinks. Surprisingly, the cookies turned out so good.
MY CHEWY CRUMBLES EXPERIENCE
Whenever I taste something new like pastries, I make sure that I experience them in different ways: eat it straight from delivery and then put them in the oven.
This cookie review comes in two-folds: “straight from delivery” and “warm cookie test.”
STRAIGHT FROM DELIVERY
I love everything about the S’MORES COFFEE. It’s the kind of cookie that has all the ingredients that you love — mallows, chocolate, and coffee. All these three complemented well in every bite.
The DOUBLE DARK CHOCOLATE was just A-Ok for my taste. It wasn’t something that makes me go for a second helping. Basically, it’s your regular dark chocolate cookie.
First bite with THE CLASSIC, as cliche as it may sound, it simply holds true to the adage, “Nothing compares to the classic.” For me, the toasted walnuts gave it a thick crunchy texture which makes it so good.
The WHITE MATCHA was a surprise to me. I am not a big fan of the matcha flavor but for some odd reason I like the cookie. Probably it had something to do with the white chocolate which somehow gives the matcha that subtle taste in my mouth.
WARM COOKIE TEST
Pastries are best enjoyed when you warm them in an oven for a few seconds/minutes. It changes your opinion on the food’s (enhanced) flavor and texture. That’s why the double dark chocolate was a revelation for me. The cookie turned out to be so delicious after warming it in the oven. The melted and caramel sauce is totally a game changer. You guys, should try this and don’t forget to warm them in the oven.
Initially, the classic chocolate chip is my favorite. I totally went bonkers when I ate the moist and chewy cookie. The chocolate simply melted in my mouth which I enjoyed so much.
The s’mores coffee was very consistent with the taste and texture. The best part was when I broke the cookie apart, the melted mallows was stretching right before my eyes. That’s what brings out the cookie monster in you. It makes you want to devour the cookie until the last crumbs. The white matcha is still as good after warming it.
RANKING MY FAVORITES
The S’MORES COFFEE tops my list. I’d definitely buy it again. the classic and the double dark chocolate are the ones I’d probably add to my purchase on alternative schedule. For white matcha, it’s the least favorite but it is something I would give it as a present to my friends who are fond of the matcha flavor.
As a whole, I totally enjoyed my Chewy Crumble experience. I appreciate the thought that you can still enjoy them after a few days (as long as you chill them in the fridge) with your favorite coffee or milk on the side. I believe that aside from the premium ingredients used in baking these cookies, the secret to their cookie recipe is they are made out of love. And that’s how the chewy cookie crumbles.
***
As of the moment, Chewy Crumbles doesn’t have any plans of releasing holiday cookies just yet but hopefully they’ll be releasing more flavors soon.
For now, their delectable four flavors are perfect for Christmas gifts this coming holiday season. And they’d be glad to have these cookies wrapped in a special Christmas packaging upon your request.
