“Guess what, Manang? Finalist ko sa Best Cebu Blog Awards!”
That’s how I broke the news to my sister over the phone as soon as I received the email from BCBA.
After the call, I kept reading the congratulatory email countless times because the news seemed so surreal. I still couldn’t believe that FoodTrailwithBeyee, made it to the Best Cebu Food Blog this year.
It was only last September 1 that I celebrated my official food blog’s first-year milestone. Now receiving this nomination, it’s way more than I expected. Being recognized for something that I’m so passionate about is truly a blessing that I’m always grateful for. So to those who believed in me and nominated me, thank you so much.
For those who have enjoyed and loved my food posts, you may support me by voting for me at this link:
WHO IS FOODTRAILWITHBEYEE?
Let me formally introduce myself and tell you about my food blogging journey.
I’m Beyee Caballes, the lady behind the lifestyle/events blog, Lifeisbeyeeutiful. Before I joined the blogosphere in 2017, I started out in food microblogging in forums, WordPress, Blogspot, and Instagram in 2009. I wasn’t serious at that time in blogging. I just treated my platforms as my food diary since my family loves going on a foodtrip.
In 2017, when I quit my day job, I went full force with my blogging for three years. Then pandemic happened.
The events world was at a standstill and I was looking for ways to put all these uncertainties to rest and be productive by doing things that I love. FOOD is my passion. It puts me in my best element.
FINDING MY VOICE AND MY PURPOSE IN LIFE IN THE MIDST OF THE PANDEMIC
For the first time, I tried my hand in food vlogging, the mukbang style. I never thought I’d show myself to the public because of my weight issues. I am too conscious of how I look and I am also scared stiff of being bashed. However, the support I got from everyone has pushed me to do more. For that, I am thankful.
One thing led to another, I made my food blogging official. I started a Facebook page, YouTube channel, Instagram, and website last year. It was quite a tedious job maintaining all these platforms alone yet sharing my foodtrails made me happy. I gained back my confidence knowing that this is what I’m good at. Then after a few months, I’ve been receiving messages from friends and random people thanking me for all the food recommendations. Some small business owners even shared their success stories after I featured their food in my blog.
Indeed, food blogging is a fulfilling hobby that has helped everyone in terms of their food cravings or their business but they have no idea that the whole experience has helped me survive this pandemic. I have found my voice and my purpose.
GRATEFUL AND BLESSED
Being nominated by your peers is a humbling experience. It’s also an honor to be alongside one of the best food bloggers in Cebu whom I have so much respect for and who happens to be my SugDI family, Dokie Xavier aka the dentist is out. Congratulations, Dokie 🙂
To everyone who has supported my food blog/vlog and to all the PR firms, brands, food establishments that I have worked with, HUGE THANKS to all of you! You have made my foodtrail fun and worthwhile.
I want to thank Jennifer Regidor, my former student and talented artist, for making my logos so awesome.
All my websites wouldn’t be up and running, if it weren’t for the main man, Dondon. I appreciate your patience and understanding since Day One.
For all the techniques, trends, and technical side in my blog, thank you, Ley for being a good mentor.
To Best Cebu Blog Awards, thank you for this opportunity. You have motivated me to share more stories with my readers.
Thank you so much, Uly for being an amazing and supportive boyfriend. Every post that I published, you never fail to share with your friends.
And to my ever-dearest Manang Lijean, I appreciate all the encouragement and motivation since day one. Thank you for the “tough love” when I wanted to give up. I couldn’t have done this food blog if it weren’t for your help. I hope I made you proud.
Once again, if my food blog has made a difference in your life in this time of the pandemic, please vote for me at this link
If you have already voted, thank you for the love, guys 🙂
