Café Elim in A.S. Fortuna is always my go-to spot for aesthetic cafes with great food. In 2021, it has become my comfort zone during the pandemic. Together with my foodtrip buddy, JC, we would cap off our nights with sweets and drinks and engage in meaningful talk. It was also around that time that I tried for the first time their yellow toast (or the famous egg drop sandwich that went viral during the pandemic) two years ago with another good friend, Kray.
Glad that they opened a new branch in Ayala Malls Central Bloc because it’s closer and more accessible to my area.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a luncheon get-together with my former students to celebrate the engagement of one of my former kids in class. Oh yes, my former grade 6 student is all grown-up and now getting married this week! (Now, I feel old hahaha)
I called Elim Central to see if they accept last-minute reservations because the first cafe where we were supposed to meet was already full. Fortunately, they accepted our reservation and immediately reserved a table for us. I was surprised that they had saved the coolest table for us when I arrived at the venue first.
Then, I ordered their Basque Burnt Cheesecake as a surprise for the engaged couple, Clint and Iza. Little did I know that the Elim crew cooked up something sweet and nice.
I love how they made the new place even more beautiful. They set up the place nicely which makes every nook so IG-worthy.
They are still consistent with the food. Though pricey but some items on the menu are worth it.
Happy to know that they’re serving Einspanner because I’ve been loving the coffee drink since I first tasted it in a small café in Carcar City. Now I know where I can get one in IT Park.
In the middle of our lunch, I gave a signal to one of the crew to start with the surprise. The crew brought out the cake and handed it to the couple. What made the surprise sweeter was when they played on cue this beautiful Westlife song, “Beautiful in White.”
Awwww, the Elim crew was so supportive which I appreciated a lot. Thank you so much to Aljun, Alizah, Mae, Cathy, Junjun, Carl, Aldren, Symon, and Robert. You guys made the surprise even more special.
Not only Elim Central is serving sweet desserts but they also have the sweetest crew any café can have. So, this is a pro tip, if you’re planning for one sweet surprise, look no further, Elim Central is the place you can rely on.
