My friends and I ended our February with a culinary adventure in Restaurante Trinidad. It’s a new Spanish-Filipino restaurant that recently opened in Cebu Quincentennial Hotel beside Landers Cebu. Restaurante Trinidad is inspired by the majestic Spanish galleons of the 16th century. It offers a unique blend of traditional Spanish dishes and Filipino influences.
Warm colors, rustic décor, and Spanish-inspired artwork transported us to the heart of Spain. That moment, my friends and I instantly knew we are in for an unforgettable culinary experience.
A MENU OF TAPESTRY OF FLAVORS: EXPLORING SPANISH DELIGHTS
You’ll find a tantalizing array of classic Spanish dishes in Restaurante Trinidad. The aromatic paella, succulent salpicao, savory callos, and the delectable lengua estofada, will definitely leave your taste buds dancing with approval. And not to forget the sweet churros, served with thick hot chocolate for dipping will send you to high heavens.
THE SALPICAO SENSATION: A MUST-TRY DELIGHT
Among the standout dishes at this Spanish-Filipino restaurant, one cannot miss their mouthwatering salpicao. The tender and perfectly seasoned cubes of beef are seared to perfection, infusing each bite with a burst of flavor. It is truly a dish that will leave you craving for more.
On the other hand, another worthy find was their lechon kawali. This Filipino-style crispy pork belly is sure to satisfy your carnivorous cravings. Overall, whether you’re a fan of beef or pork, this restaurant has something to offer for everyone.
THE UNEXPECTED TWIST: EXPLORING THE PAELLA NEGRA
Despite the small portion size and the hefty price, the bold flavors and unique combination of squid ink and seafood in paella negra compensated for the serving size. Although the paella negra did not meet our expectations in terms of portion size, the distinctive taste made it worth trying. Furthermore, the infusion of squid ink into the dish created a unique and memorable dining experience.
GOING BEYOND THE PLATE: AN EXQUISITE DINING EXPERIENCE WITH EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE
One remarkable thing about our dining experience in Restaurante Trinidad is their exceptional service which I believe is an essential ingredient that enhances the flavors of a meal. The restaurant staff, Ron and Jhonel, created a welcoming environment that complements the culinary delights on our plates. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided dish recommendations that suit our tastes and cravings. That alone goes to show how attentive they were to our needs throughout our dinner.
As we capped off our culinary journey at Restaurante Trinidad, we are reminded of the rich and diverse tapestry of flavors that Spanish cuisine offers. From the traditional paella to the savory tapas, each dish tells its own story and leaves a lasting impression. The fusion of Spanish and Filipino influences adds an exciting twist to the dining experience, offering a truly unique taste of both cultures.
If you’re on the lookout of Spanish cuisine or something new, check out Restaurante Trinidad. Immerse yourself in the flavors of Spain, as you embark on a gastronomic adventure like no other.
