National Chocolate Day is observed on October 28. It is a day set aside to honor one of the world’s favorite food. Despite the fact that there are many occasions throughout the year that are specifically dedicated to chocolate, National Chocolate Day celebrates all things chocolate. Some celebrate either July 7 or December 28 as International Chocolate Days.
So why do most people go crazy over chocolates?
Chocolate comes from the seed of the tropical Theobroma cacao tree. Cacao has been grown for at least three thousand years in Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. As historians claim, cacao seeds were first used around 1100 BC.
According to science, eating chocolate can make you happy in addition to tasting good. Chocolate contains chemicals like tryptophan which the brain uses to make serotonin, a hormone that causes feelings of happiness and joy. That is why most people eat chocolate to cheer themselves up on bad days or to celebrate small wins. Girls who are having PMS tend to overindulge in chocolate to cheer them up.
And I’m one of them.
So, today, allow me to indulge you with a list of chocolate desserts that I’ve tried over the years and that have remained on my shortlist of chocolate creations that you can never say no to.
Whatever shape or form of chocolate dessert you choose, keep in mind that moderation is key. It never hurts to treat yourself every now and then. We’ve always found a reason to return to this classic comfort food over the years. We will never grow out of our fondness for chocolate.
So, visit any of the restaurants mentioned in this blog or your favorite food stop and indulge in a delicious chocolate dessert.
