Days before Valentine’s Day, I attended an intimate media soiree at Seda Central Bloc Cebu. It was their third anniversary and Pre-Valentine celebration, dubbed, Sweets and Scents. It was an afternoon filled with “labor of love” as we did some DIY making scented candles and molding chocolates.
I had never tried making candles or chocolates before. I simply buy those I find in stores, but I never imagined I’d be doing it myself. So I was so excited all throughout the DIY projects.
While everyone else was getting ready to start molding chocolates, I cooked up a good idea. I decided to surprise my boyfriend with the chocolate that I’m about to make. And the scented candle will be part of my collection.
DIY SWEETS
Chocolate is one of those foods that everyone enjoys. So, you can’t go wrong with an adorable heart box of Valentine’s chocolate.
It’s also common knowledge that chocolates make an excellent dessert. Fortunately, molding chocolate is not a difficult process. The difficult part was you’ll end up confused because of the ideas running through your head.
DIY SCENTS
Not only are candles a great way to express yourself without saying much, but every time your partner gets a whiff of the sweet scent, they’ll think of you.
And candlemaking is everyone’s favorite craft because it’s endlessly customizable, classically beautiful, and simple to make. What’s difficult is having to wait a certain amount of time to add or decorate your scented candle. If you add some elements ahead of time, you will not get the desired result.
Thanks to Quinn’s Candle and Crafts for teaching us how to make our own scented candle.
In between activities, media friends and I dined on a lavish spread of canapes paired with coffee or tea. Then we all went to the hotel’s restaurant, Misto, for dinner. We savored and enjoyed a wide array of gastronomic dishes that served as a preview of their Valentine’s buffet spread.
LOVE AND GRATITUDE
That afternoon wasn’t all about chocolates and candles. Seda Central Bloc Cebu also used the occasion to thank the media for all the support since they opened.
“Three years ago, we said we will be making a mark in the industry here in Cebu City. And now, three years after, we’re known to the public. We would like to thank you for being our partner in making our brand known to everyone,” said General Manager Ron Manalang.
“Out of the eleven properties, Seda Bloc is the most unique because it opened on February 12, 2020, then weeks after, the pandemic happened,” he added.
The pandemic has had a huge impact not only on the hotel but on the entire hospitality industry.
Amidst the pandemic and Typhoon Odette, “Seda stood strong with all your help. With that, we are grateful since day one,” said Director of Sales Thrina Alvizo dela Calzada.
The words of love and gratitude warmed my heart. It’s always a good feeling to see local businesses and industries slowly recover from temporary setbacks.
I am also grateful for my collaboration with Seda Central Bloc Cebu. Just last year, I attended some of their events and I was impressed by how they come up with meaningful activities like these DIY projects which I haven’t done before. I found these activities to be extremely rewarding and enjoyable.
Definitely, it was a THREE-fic anniversary and pre-valentine treat that I will treasure for keeps!
Happy 3rd Anniversary, Seda Central Bloc Cebu 🙂
