I’ve been a regular to this restaurant since my first visit last year.
It was a love-at-first-taste.
I found this place by accident when the family’s fave places were practically swamped with peeps.
Last resort, was banana leaf… we thought the place didn’t offer good food since it wasn’t that packed… but I was wrong.
The interior reminds me of Krua Thai, there’s a semblance to it though and the menu is similar to krua and spice and fusion in SM North Wing. They have an array of Asian mix dishes which names are really hard for me to remember.
WHAT I LOVE IN BANANA LEAF
The Malay Chicken Curry
It is one of the best curries I’ve tasted.. they are served in 4 medium cuts, so it’s A-Ok and the spices are not that overpowering.. just right for the taste buds.
Spring Roll Noodle
I forgot the exact name… this is same with Krua Thai’s.. just the right texture and flavor. But I gotta hand it to Krua that their’s taste better.
MORE FAVORITES
The service was good. They have very accommodating and alert staff. They always tell you what’s good in their menu. It goes to show how they know the menu by heart. They always smile at their guests which is one of my criteria when I leave a good tip.
The only bad thing is their restroom, it’s unisex plus you’re cramped in a small space. Not good for someone who’s not into small enclosed spaces.
Over-all, their service is good, the food is worth another nth visit though their menu is quite expensive but it’s all good!
